Couples Therapy
Whether you have been together for 2 years or 20+ years disagreements, conflict and roadblocks can happen. Sometimes, major life changes such as a loss in the family, a job transition, the addition of a new family member, or a move can disrupt what had been working in a relationship. A breach of trust or infidelity can test the limits of just about any relationship. If you find yourself in a situation like the ones listed here, or something similar, we want you to know that repairing your relationship may take time and effort, but that repair is still possible.
How we can help
We use evidence-based protocols such as the Gottman method to help you understand and navigate some of the challenges you are facing in your relationship. While we get to know you and your partner, we will also be assessing your communication styles, patterns of relating, and conflict management to better gauge how to help change unhealthy habits in your relationship to healthy ones. As we do this, we take into consideration not only your relationship, but the context it exists within - family dynamics, cultural factors, religious or spiritual factors, and social aspects. From this vantage point, our therapists will work with you to repair existing wounds while preventing further wounding.
Our therapists take a compassionate and non-judgmental stance to therapy. We are not here to take sides or shift blame, but to advocate with you for a healthier and more fulfilling relationship. For more information, or to meet your therapist, contact us to book a free consultation.
